Co-operation Projects

 

  1. Fudan University: In 1994, in co-operation with its Department of History, commissioned the University to conduct oral history interviews on the following 7 topics in the Shanghai region during the War of Resistance:
    1. The Reserve Bank of Wang's puppet regime;
    2. Civic life in occupied Shanghai;
    3. The Battle of Shanghai in the War of Resistance of January 28, 1932;
    4. Itinerant rice traders during the Siege Period in Shanghai concessions;
    5. the Battle of Burma;
    6. The destruction and pillage of Chinese books by Japanese troops during the invasion period;
    7. Shanghai's missionary colleges during the War of Resistance;
  2. Peking University: In 1996, in co-operation with its Department of History, conducted interviews on the following four topics:
    1. The trials of the Japanese prisoners of war by the Special Military Tribunal of the Chinese Supreme People's Court(Shenyang, 1956);
    2. The Anti-epidemics and Water Supply Troops(Unit 1855) of the Japanese Army in Northern China;
    3. The intellectuals of the South-western Allied University during the War of Resistance ;
    4. The teaching and living conditions of the secondary and primary school teachers and staff in Dandong and Shenyang during Japanese rule in North-eastern China;
  3. The Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression: In 1997, in co-operation with the Research Department of the Museum, the Society commissioned the Museum to conduct an interview project on the following topics(to be completed):
    1. The July 7 Incident and the 29th Army;
    2. The Children Theatrical Troupe during the War of Resistance;
    3. Overseas Chinese participation in the war effort;
    4. The issue of opium growing and trafficking by Japanese troops during occupation.
  4. Solicitation of articles: In co-operation with the quarterly Journal of China's Resistance War against Japan(published by the Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) in 2000, solicited specialized articles on oral history related to the War of Resistance.
  5. The issue of Japan's enslaved Chinese laborers: In 2002, in co-operation with Mr. He Tian-yi through his nongovernmental research net on the issues of the war of invasion against China by Japan, interviewed 25 former laborers victimized by Japan. Interviewed 100 of them in 2003 and another 100 in 2004.
  6. Oral history on the exiles from North-eastern China to China proper: In 2004, in co-operation with Mr. Qi Hong-shen in Shenyang, interviewed 15 exiles from North-eastern China to China proper during the War of Resistance.
  7. Oral story from enslaved laborers in North-eastern China:In 2006, in co-operation with Mr. Li bing-gang in Shenyang, interviewed 20 former enslaved laborers who had been kidnapped there.
  8. Investigation on the North-eastern China Concentration Camp Project: In 2006, in co-operation with Mr. He Tian-yi through his nongovernmental research net on the issues of the war of invasion against China by Japan, looked into the issue of former concentration camps in North-eastern China.
  9. The Fushun War Prisoners Correctional Facilities: In 2008, in co-operation with Mr. Li Bing-gang in Shenyang, interviewed 20 former correctional staff at the Fushun War Prisoners Correctional Facilities.
  10. Elderly soldiers of the War of Resistance: In co-operation with the Elderly Soldiers Network in 2012, interviewed 20 elderly soldiers in Guangzhou and other areas.
